Basselinia pancheri

Considered by many to be one of the most attractive of the New Caledonian palms, here in South Florida it would prefer light shade or filtered light or direct light morning sun (that means before 12 noon). It would not fare too well in the scorching sun of South Florida afternoons even though some books indicate that it can grow into full sun. It should be planted in a moist, but not wet area, that is not too acidic and very well drained.
