Coccothrinax argentata
(Silverpalm)
Native to south Florida and parts of the carribean the “silver palm” is a solitary palm that grows to 20 feet however, taking a person’s lifetime to achieve that height. It’s a salt and drought tolerant palm that loves the full sun. Doesn’t seem to be too specific about soil preferences but does need well drained soil and all in all a perfect palm for south Florida. Although it is somewhat cold hardy enough to tolerate zone 9b colder climes tend to make the palm rather short lived.
