Calyptrocalyx albertsiana (red)

 

Once past the seedling stage a fast growing usually solitary but occasionally clustering palm which can eventually reach 25 feet. The emergent leaves are a bright red which can last up to a couple of weeks. It needs shade as a seedling and a young plant but can eventually adapt to more sun as it gets older but would be best in filtered light. None of the calyptrocalyx can be considered cold hardy and all need a rich humus–laden soil that is fast draining
