Calyptrocalyx pachystachys

A small single solitary palm that attains a height of up to about 8 or 9 feet with its emergent leaves unfolding in a curlyque type manner which attracts even more attention with its bright cherry red color.. Really a very pretty palm, but as with all calyptrocalyx  does not tolerate cold and likes a rich humus-laden soil that is very fast draining.
