Corypha umbraculifera

(Talipot)

The “talipot” palm can easily be described as monstronomous, huge, massive and an extremely impressive sight with its huge trunk to more than 2 feet across and more than 80 feet tall, immense palmate leaves each about 15 feet across and fruit (seeds) the size of golf balls…you are only, if fortunate, going to see the seeds on any given plant once….For once it flowers and fruits, which takes at least more than 45 years, it dies. The inflorescence, by the way is the largest flowering structure in the entire plant kingdom.
