Cocothrinax borhidiana

Cocothrinax borhidiana is a solitary palm which given eons can attain a height of 15 feet with a compact, tight crown of dark green leaves on short petioles that are juxtaposed at odd angles making the silhouette somewhat unusual, distinctive and interesting. Which, is one reason, perhaps, why many people refer to it as the palm that grows in a “spiral”. The palm prefers alkaline soil, full sun and well drained soil. When mature it retains a skirt of leaves .This is an extremely interesting, gorgeous, though somewhat pricey addition to the garden.
