Hyophorbe verschafeltii
(Spindle palm)

The “spindle palm”  gets its common name from a spindle shaped trunk( kind of narrow at or narrowing at both ends while thicker in the middle) its also mistakenly been called a “bottle palm” but the appearance would be that of a whiskey bottle as opposed to the brandy bottle appearance of the H.lagencaulis. It’s practically bullet proof, very easy to grow and consequently extremely popular. It likes full sun but can take filtered light and can stay containerized for a long time and remarkably enough can do very well as an attractive indoor plant in bright sunny window locations.
