Astrocaryum alatum

Native to the eastern coasts  of Panama, Costa Rica and the rain forests of southern Nicaragua. This is a solitary palm that is easily confused with Astrocaryum mexicanum  though because of its slightly larger leaves is thought by some to be more beautiful grows to about 20 feet tall.

When young it will need partial shade and can eventually take full sun. It need is moderately fast growing and requires a well drained soil.
