A massive palm reaching to 100 feet with leaves 20 feet long and ten feet wide. Known for its size and relative cold tolerance ( it has gone through 30 degrees with little or no damage) it can be  a formidable and gorgeous addition to the canopy of your landscape. It does best in a rich soil with lots of watering and while its tough for 100 foot plants to grow in the shade this one while a seedling does need a bit of filtered light before emerging into the full sun.
