Caryota zebrina
(Zebra fishtail)
Zebrina grows at higher altitudes (from 2500 to 4500 ft.) which could be an indication of some degree of cold tolerance at least much more cold tolerant than C. ophiopellis. The palm while very similar to C.ophiopellis as seedlings has marked differences. The leaves are a darker green, much glossier, thicker with more diamond shaped leaflets. Then of course a mjor difference is this guy grows to a height of 50feet. Personally here in south Florida I have found zebrina much easier to grow than ophipellis, although my experience is limited to container growing.
