Chambeyronia macrocarpa
(filtered light, very well drained soil, but loves water) endemic to the rainforests of New Caledonia on elevations of 2 to 3 thousand feet; it has earned the common name of “red feather” or “flame palm” due to the often bright red color of its emergent leaves. Sometimes reaching heights of over 40 feet in the wild it is generally regarded as a much smaller palm here in south florida with max height from 20 to 30 feet… In addition to its fabulously colored leaves it boasts a beautiful shape: tall and straight,a few gloriously arching leaves with wide and widely spaced leaflets earning and deserving a favored spot in the garden.**Recognized by the south Florida palm society as one of the 10 best palms for south Florida**
