The “champagne bottle” palm can attain 25feet and diameter of about 7 inches its much thicker at the base which can be 2 feet wide before tapering into a sort of goose neck into its trunk midway up the palm actually reminiscent of a champagne bottle. We only carry the red form which to us seems a little hardier and somewhat more attractive. While many consider it to be a full sun palm we have found it to be far more attractive in filtered light or light morning sun. It’s adaptable to many soils as long as they are well drained but seems to fare best where the soil is a bit acidic.
