Licuala radula
(Lanonia dasyantha)
Different from most other Licuala species in that L.radula is clustering, dioecious (male and female plants) with mottled leaves of light and dark green, perhaps not as showy as L.”mapu, but beautiful none the less. It’s a little more cold tolerant than most Licualas and its trunks only get about 3 feet high. Here, at the nursery, we use a very fast draining soil mix, frequent watering and regular doses of a good fertilizer.
