Pinanga Maculata

Pinanga maculate also known as the “Tiger Palm” is, according to Paul Craft, author of An Encyclopedia of Cultivated Palms, “one of the world’s most beautiful small palms; each individual is a little symphony of color and form and needs to be placed where its intimate beauty can be appreciated up close”.

This palm grows to about 20 feet, requires a warm, sheltered and shady location with moist soil that should not be allowed to dry out between waterings. It can take evening temperatures down into the low 40’s and would certainly be a gorgeous addition to any shady garden.
