Satakentia liukenensis
common names: Satake
An elegant solitary palm with a light gray trunk and purple crown shaft. The leaves and crown remind us of a coconut tree in appearance but prettier. It is said to not tolerate cold but is known to do well in both South Florida and some of the microclimates of south west Florida as far north as Ft. Meyers. In cultivation probably grows to 25 to 35 feet. It likes water and prefers a rich soil and full sun as it gets older.
