Pritchardia hildebrantii
blue form*
A slow grower that can eventually get up to 20 feet. Its blue-green 4 foot long undivided
Leaves must be protected from high winds. The palm is salt tolerant and would do well on the lee side of coastal plantings in full sun. It cannot take freezing temperatures and requires regular watering. We have cultivars of this palm which is said to be a dwarf… but we have little experience with it as yet and although the name is P. hillebrandii “blue dwarf” it has indeed remained small but to date is still dark green… very pretty though.
